MultAlign introduces a new epoxy to the Dutch market: Loctite Fixmaster
Marine Chocking

An alternative is at last available to the customary epoxies used for grouting machines, engines, screw shaft pipes, etc. Loctite has spent 5 years testing and using the new epoxy in Asia and the United States and is now introducing the epoxy to the Dutch market in collaboration with MultAlign.

Why yet another epoxy brand?

Many companies have been tied to their current epoxies for years. As a result of this, Loctite has taken the time to come to market with a new, high-quality product. This epoxy, Loctite Fixmaster Marine Chocking, provides a highly competitive alternative, not only in terms of its specifications but also in terms of price. In collaboration with Loctite, MultAlign has been testing the product for a full year and is extremely enthusiastic about the results.

Michaël Krapels, managing director at MultAlign: “The market has been asking us for an alternative for years. We’ve now found it at Loctite and the tests have exceeded our expectations. We’re now able to offer a good alternative product with a strong brand name. It’s not just good news for us, but also for the free market and the end user.”

Loctite Fixmaster Marine Chocking has already received approval from all the major classification agencies and, as a result, is ready for the Dutch market. Despite the product name, Loctite Fixmaster Marine Chocking can also be used in industry.

Where can I get this epoxy?

Although Loctite usually employs several distributors for its products, it has made a conscious decision to have one exclusive distributor in this case owing to this product’s complexity. MultAlign has more than 20 years’ experience of aligning and grouting engines, machines, etc. and, consequently, is the partner of choice in terms of its ability to offer any required support. In addition, MultAlign is already the distributor for Stealth Alignment Lasers. Furthermore, MultAlign can supply the correct training and products for complete and accurate alignment work.

Fixmaster Superior Metal is a liquid, corrosion-proof, metal resin for repairing and re-aligning such things as damaged axle parts. In addition to axle repairs, Superior Metal can be used in any situation involving damaged or corroded steel. For example, this could include pump housing, flanges, piping, etc. Furthermore, Superior Metal can also be used to ‘cast’ steel in moulds.

In summary, it’s a new, innovative and highly versatile product with applications for all industrial sectors. As one would expect from Loctite, the product is of superior quality and competitively priced!

For a brief (video) explanation about its applications, please use the link to YouTube

MultAlign has Loctite Marine Grade Anti-Seize for coating propeller shafts: a lubricant for protecting metal that is exposed either directly or indirectly to fresh or salt water. It has lubricating properties, repels water and can withstand temperatures ranging from -29 ºC to +1315 ºC.

MultAlign introduces electric right-angle turning machine

Written by on June 1, 2011 in Nieuws - 1 Comment

From today, MultAlign is introducing the internally developed right-angle turning machine. The turning machine has been developed to make it easier to turn engines. Turning engines for maintenance or realignment is often a heavy duty and intensive business. The turning machine saves time and energy. Simply plugging it into a 220V socket outlet and using the ½” connection socket makes virtually any engine easier to turn by means of a socket or loosening socket.

Specifications:

850W electric drill with 220V flex (4 metres) which can be disconnected
Delay of 1 in 50 (as a result heavy engines can be turned without any problem)
Full weight approx. 10kg
½” connection socket
Adjustable handle for left or right-handed operation
Adjustable drill power for constant speed
Dimensions: (length × height × width) 54 × 10 × 7 centimetres

The right-angle turning machine is now available from MultAlign for € 799.00 excluding 19% VAT.

Continuous monitoring system for alignment and vibrations

Written by on April 1, 2011 in Nieuws - 3 Comments

For the purpose of keeping a watchful eye on the condition of your propulsion installation, MultAlign has developed a monitoring system capable of constantly displaying the situation in terms of alignment and vibrations.

Its advantages for you:

  • No more unnecessary alignment inspections
  • Constant overview about the condition of the installation (increases in vibration, changes to alignment)
  • An immediate idea about the effect of the load, collisions, etc. on the installation
  • Ability to plan maintenance in advance: i.e. never having to be unnecessarily inoperative again
  • Complete history and prediction of, for example, the wear on bearings

Vibration monitoring can pinpoint, for example, a problem area in relation to a particular rotational speed. In addition, continuous monitoring of alignment keeps you aware of when the installation needs to be readjusted in order to extend the life of the engine and all the components and in order to reduce wear.

The cost of the alignment and vibration monitoring system is € 4,000.00, including installation. This system has been specially adapted for marine engines and is a minor investment that can yield major savings.

MultAlign introduces new technology at Technical & Industrial Trade Fair (TIV)

Written by on March 1, 2011 in Nieuws - Comments Off on MultAlign introduces new technology at Technical & Industrial Trade Fair (TIV)

On 18, 19 and 20 January 2011, MultAlign will be present at the Technical & Industrial Trade Fair (TIV) in Gorinchem together with a number of completely new inventions in the field of alignment. MultAlign developed these products internally and not only are they innovative but also cost-saving.

Laser Eye

As an example, a system is to be introduced at the trade fair which, for the first time, combines the continuous monitoring of alignment and vibration. Vibration monitoring already exists on the current market, but combining this with alignment monitoring is entirely new. In addition, the system will be offered at a fair price, starting from € 3,000.00, which makes it a lucrative investment in view of the considerable savings it can generate in terms of maintenance costs.
The system has applications within the industrial and shipping sectors – anywhere, in fact, where alignment needs to be monitored.

In terms of main engines for shipping, for example, the system allows you to verify at any time whether the engines are in alignment and what the effect of any vibration may be. The result means never again having to go to unnecessary expense to check alignment and, consequently, an assessment can be made promptly about when alignment needs to be corrected or when maintenance work needs to be performed. If a collision occurs or an object gets caught in the screw, you will be able to tell straightaway whether this has affected alignment.

In industry, the system can be applied to production lines or offshore on oil platforms. When pumping out oil on the platforms, distortion can arise owing to the forces involved in the process. This system means you can now directly monitor the degree of distortion and whether this remains within your tolerances.

The system is being introduced for the first time at the TIV in Gorinchem at Stand 135.

Industry Chock

At the trade fair, MultAlign is also introducing its newly developed adjustable engine and machine mount. Its features include low overall height, high strength resistance and easy readjustment. In addition to these features, the Industry Chock is distinct from other adjustable mounts owing to its price, which is on average 40% lower than currently available mounts.

The system is being introduced for the first time at the TIV in Gorinchem at Stand 135.

Naturally, MultAlign will also be presenting its current range of products. This means that you will be able to ask at our stand for more information about the Loctite Fixmaster Epoxies, the Stealth Alignment Lasers, the Pocket Vibra Pro (vibration measurements), the Pocket Balancer (on-site balancing) and the Pulley Pro (pulley alignment laser).

We look forward to seeing you at Stand 135 at the TIV in Gorinchem on 18, 19 or 20 January 2011 in the Events Hall in Gorinchem.
